About Us

About CSI and our members:

CSI is the national association dedicated to creating standards and formats to improve construction documentation and project delivery. It is the only organization focused on fostering better communication within the project team.  With 130 chapters and 10,000 members, CSI is the only professional organization who’s members span across all disciplines of the construction industry. The diversity of our membership brings wide-ranging perspectives; news on trends, techniques and materials; and fresh ideas—all to the benefit of our organization, our members and our industry.  Respected, influential, resourceful, CSI has been the trusted source for construction industry standards for more than 50 years and is certain to influence it tomorrow.

  • CSI is the only technical organization that integrates representatives from all of the construction industry’s disciplines, and brings them together to network and succeed.
  • CSI is a leader in the construction industry, developing the shared language that all disciplines use to process, interpret and communicate information.
  • CSI is a critical provider of products and services that help the construction industry to communicate effectively and efficiently.
  • CSI offers assistance that helps all disciplines in the construction industry do a tough job better.
  • CSI provides an important public service by developing products and services that make construction projects safer and cheaper.

Welcome to The Nebraska Chapter Construction Specification Institute, Inc -  aka CSI Nebraska.

Who are we, you ask?

We are comprised of individuals who use building products in some fashion. Our members include but not limited to product reps, engineers, architects, contractors, product manufactures and building owners. CSI Nebraska has a membership around 100 individuals and the majority is active in some committee. CSI Nebraska Chapter is part of the North Central Region within the national CSI organization.

What do we do?

CSI Nebraska members create a network with the common goals of creating better specifications for a project, to sharing experience and knowledge gained, to creating a network of resource people. These are just a few of positive things we do.

When do we do this?

The "when" part happens on many different levels. CSI Nebraska holds monthly meetings on the second Monday of the month in Omaha, NE. Interaction among members can happen daily with a call between an architect and a product rep for example.

Where are we?

CSI Nebraska covers the entire state of Nebraska. Due to demographics and the geography of the state, most our members are from the Omaha and Lincoln areas. Monthly meetings typically take place in Omaha at Anthony's Steakhouse unless we have a building tour.

Are you intrigued yet? We are always seeking new members. Come to a meeting and see what we are all about! We are a great bunch of people!

Yearly Events

Throughout the year we have several major fun and educational events. Within the local chapter, we have the annual Product Show and Seminars each February. At the regional level, members can attend the North Central Regional Conference every May / June. This conference rotates locations every year and is a fun "get-a-way" for a few days, At the national level, the "CONSTRUCT" CSI Annual Convention is held every fall. The Annual Convention makes for a fun week-long excuse not to work while you enjoy networking and educational courses!
