Spouse / Significant Other Program Schedule

Friday, April 20th:

9:00 am  - Everyone meet and greet in lobby (after having breakfast with spouses).

We will have fun icebreaker games with Nebraska themed prizes, and additional info/brochures to hand out to everyone concerning the events for the day.

10:00 am - The trolley will pick us up at the lobby of the Embassy Suites Hotel and take us on the Gritty City Tour.

This is strictly a riding tour, with no getting off the trolley.  The tour lasts about an hour and a half.

The Gritty City
"The Gritty City" tour takes visitors through downtown Omaha, pointing out several historic locations, including the former site of Madame Anna Wilson's home, The Brandeis Building, and the Paxton Hotel, all the while highlighting impact of noted individuals and events in our city's sometimes turbulent history.   www.durhammuseum.org

11:30 am - Trolley will drop us off back at hotel lobby.

11:30 am - We will immediately walk across the street to the Old Market and have lunch at the Twisted Fork.

Twisted Fork - American Food with a Cowboy Twist twistedforkomaha.com   1014 Howard Street  Cost of lunch is "on your own".

1:00-ish pm - Members of the group can head back to the hotel to rest or they can go on their own shopping in the Old Market.

3:30 pm - TD Ameritrade Tour with spouses/sig. others, or can go and do whatever ( rest, shopping, etc.) until time to meet for dinner.

Saturday, April 21st:

9:00 am - Meet and greet in the hotel lobby.  Information given out for the tour that day, as well as fun icebreaker games with Nebraska themed prizes.

10:00 am - Group will walk to the Durham Museum (for those who do not want to walk, there is a hotel shuttle available)

The CUT! Costume and the Cinema exhibit will be at the Durham Museum at that time.  There are no brochures on it as of yet, but you can go online to see a description.  durhammuseum.org  Click on calendar, you can click on description there.

Everyone will be encouraged to explore all the other museum exhibits as well as check-out the soda fountain.

I anticipate this tour to take approximately 2-3 hours.

1:00 pm - Plan to meet and walk back to the Old Market for lunch.  The Omaha women will decide on a restaurant and invite everyone to join us or if there is another restaurant that someone wants to try, they can go out on their own.

Cost of lunch is "on your own".

We will discuss that morning at the meet and greet all the different things they can do after our lunch in the Old Market.  Such as:  Art Galleries 3 different ones, Havana Garage, Nosh Wine Lounge to name a few.

We will probably finish up lunch on Saturday around 2-2:30 pm.  Again, we will encourage people to explore the Old Market.  Everyone back by 4 pm to rest up and dress for dinner at the Henry Doorly Zoo.
